One of our plans while in Madagascar is to build two Tippy Taps
outside the Cathedral latrines for hand-washing purposes.
Paul and Simon are going to work on this project with some of the
Malagasy people. They will also train the local people in how and why to
use them, and encourage everyone to wash their hands to reduce illnesses due to
the spreading of germs on unwashed hands.
Yesterday, I sent instructions to Paul so that he could to
teach the Malagasy to make Tippy Taps. With great enthusiasm they have
already built one in their garden. Here's Maggie trying it out. I think the neighbors in Paris may find it
puzzling to see them washing their hands in the garden!!
